My BuJo and Winners

I feel like going light and airy today, so I’m going to share some of my pages from my 2020 and 2021 bullet journals.

May 2020

I’m an artist, but my medium is usually words so don’t judge my drawings and paintings or lack thereof too severely. Please!

I’m not sure how this is going to look, but I’m going to try to give it some semblance of order. 🙂

Most of the pictures are of my monthly cover pages with a Scripture or quote. I will indicate it if it something different.

September 2020

Notice the ghosting from the other side on the December page. 🙁 My marker bled.

December 2020

My bullet journal in 2020 and again this year are of a lesser quality, so the pages tend to bleed with any marker. I think for 2022, I will budget for a higher quality bujo with 180 gsm (grams per square meter — I had to look it up) weighted paper. From what I understand, it is less likely to bleed like this.

STEADFAST is my word for 2021. The two following images are the cover pages for my 2021 journal.

I made up the acronym to remind myself of things I want to remember in 2021.

And in case you can’t read my handwriting. I want to:

  • See the possibilities
  • Take stock
  • Eat well
  • Allow for imperfections
  • Do the impossible
  • Finish what I start
  • Ask for help when necessary
  • Stay on track
  • Take time for myself

The trees–yes, that’s what they’re supposed to be–remind me of things that are steadfast, barring major calamity. They also line my path. They keep me from straying.

The next two pictures are from my 2021 journal as well.

They are examples of my SIMPLE weeklies.

I try different styles each month. The first is from January. The second is one of the layouts I tried in February; I didn’t like the first one much, so changed it out mid month.

The February layout has a second page that I didn’t show. As you can see, I don’t have a lot going on. I rarely use the spaces, but I find it relaxing to draw them anyway. And there are days. LOL

And finally, we come to this year’s March layout. I set up a list back in December of possible themes. January was mountains. February was my birthday month–keep reading for winners. And March is wings.

Why? <shrug> I have no idea.

Because I want to soar into new things. Take steps of faith that I’ve considered impossible. Work toward goals–steadfastly–while remaining under the protective cover of my Father.

My plan with the wings was to put the calendar OVER one side, but I worked too hard to hide them that way, so the calendar went on the next page. 🙂 Over time, my art has become more elaborate, and I’ve taken greater chances. And even when I’ve struggled–those wings took me over an hour–I’ve been fairly happy with my results. And, in general, no one but me SEES my bullet journal. And trust me when I say that there are pages that are ROUGH. I mean, LOOK at those trees. 😮 😀

Okay, now to the winners from February’s giveaway.

Congratulations to:

  • Nancy
  • Natalya
  • Connie
  • Kendra
  • Suzanne

While I’d originally said I was going to gift thirteen books, these ladies were my only commenters all month. 🙁 I thank them for supporting me with their comments. And if you read but don’t comment. I appreciate your silent support–though I wish you’d say, “Hi,” once in a while. 🙂

Blessings to you all,

  1. I remember that my favorite therapy used to be to buy and brand new coloring book and crayons…as an adult! I bet doing those drawings was very therapeutic. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Oh, I still buy coloring books (adult ones that are more detailed). I use gel pens to color them.

    1. Thank you, Natalya. My skill is nominal compared to some I see on Pinterest, but I’m happy with it. 😉

  2. Oops….I should proof read for myself 🤪🙄.

    A brand new coloring book.

    Sometimes I love autocorrect……most of the time I don’t!

    1. I know, right. My words turn into gobbledygook before my eyes. 🙂

I understood what you meant and that’s all that matters. Sometimes my husband will send me a text and I have to stare at it for a while to figure out what he means. One time he sent a series of texts. The last came in first. It was very confusing. 😮

  3. Keep on with your art, both in words and drawing. Every artist has a strength and weakness. My mother was a wonderful landscape artist, but would literally get ulcers trying to draw/paint faces of humans or animals. Where I struggle to draw a straight line, circle or anything that will look like what I see in my head.
    Really enjoy your blogs.
