January Ramblings

I’m running late with this post, but I’m HERE! 😀

There are so many things I want to express, but they’re all random and not cohesive to one another.

I have plans, but I also want to be flexible to the Holy Spirit.

I want my blog to grow.

I want us to be a community of believers, of readers, who enjoy fiction, romance, and love God at the same time.

There are so many things I’d like to see happen here, but I need your help. If you see a post that is especially helpful to you, would you share? If it doesn’t give you “all the feels” but you know someone who might be helped by it, would you share? If the share options are not working, please let me know. 🙂

So, here’s my tentative schedule for 2025.

While January is nearly behind us already, I do want to touch on peace and future a bit more than I have.

No one wants to live in turmoil, but we all have or maybe are currently living in a place of unrest.

Recently, one of our pastors made a statement that stuck with me, and this will be a Ginger paraphrase.

Peace doesn’t come from external quiet. You can only find perfect peace through Jesus, our Prince of Peace. It is an internal state not dependent on external circumstances.

Here’s a snippet of my notes:

We assume peace is found in the absence .
    • Absence of conflict
    • Absence of disagreement
    • Absence of anxiety

Biblical Peace isn’t found in absence it is found in presence.

(John 14:27 NIV) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

The peace of God is the fruit of the presence of the God of peace in my life.

We can never KNOW peace until we know the God of peace. And the knowing is not knowledge based, it’s relationship based. We have to have an intimate, personal relationship with God.

And when we have that peace, the future is bright, even when the circumstances that surround us seem dark. We can rely on our peace, the God of peace, to sustain us.

Psalm 23 is the ultimate example of walking in the peace of God.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Walk forward into 2025 with the peace of God in your heart.

Blessings,

  1. I am comforted by the fact that the peace Jesus speaks of is not knowledge-based. I don’t know about anyone else, but it seems that the more I “know”, the more I don’t “know”.

    1. This is so true. The older I get the more I realize I am ignorant about so many things. It’s a case of the more I know, the more I realize how much I really don’t know.
