I Discovered Something New

I read a recent post on a fellow writer’s blog, The Write Conversation, and realized something about myself and my writing.

T U A

Most of the manuscripts I’ve written (most are unpublished as of right now) have characters that are typically in their late teens or early twenties. I like to focus a lot on trust and forgiveness, but one thing I didn’t realize until I read the article that one underlying theme in all of them is abstinence until marriage.

The novel I’m working on now involves a young woman who made a mistake by giving herself to her boyfriend ONCE and is now facing the consequences of that decision. And lest you think pregnancy is the only thing she’s facing, think again. I won’t go into detail, but let’s just say the physical consequences are easy to see, but the emotional ones are harder to ascertain and harder to overcome.

I have considered writing a few articles, but haven’t sat down and done it yet. I’d appreciate your prayers.

Also, as a quick aside. I was asked by a long-time friend to join her on her podcast. That is now live and I’d love it if you would take a listen. It’s about twelve minutes long (I think). I’ve listened to it, and I sound incredibly nervous, but it was great to share a little about myself and One Choice. You can find it at http://www.discovernextstep.com/hope-through-creativity/

Blessings,
