December 12, 2023 – Joy

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them.
They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said.
“I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.
The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
Luke 2:9-11

Abba, Daddy, please fill our lives with your joy, not just during this season, but every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Merry Christmas,

    1. It’s always a struggle to decide to have joy when life is hard. I heard my pastor say recently (and I can’t remember if it was a quote or not), and this is my paraphrase. Happiness is external while joy is internal. Happiness is a result of your circumstances, while joy is a result of your reliance on God. It was something like that. 😀

Ha, it was TODAY’s sermon (I went and looked) and he said, “Joy is not rooted in our circumstances but in God.”
