Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them.
They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said.

I had to learn the hard way that true joy and worldly happiness are not the same.
It’s always a struggle to decide to have joy when life is hard. I heard my pastor say recently (and I can’t remember if it was a quote or not), and this is my paraphrase. Happiness is external while joy is internal. Happiness is a result of your circumstances, while joy is a result of your reliance on God. It was something like that. 😀
Ha, it was TODAY’s sermon (I went and looked) and he said, “Joy is not rooted in our circumstances but in God.”
