When I first started blogging several years ago, I named my blog A Bed of Roses…Thorns Included because I love roses and liked a quote by Alphonse Karr, “Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.”

I didn’t realize how accurate it would be in relation to my writing. I write romance. Love is like the roses, attractive and appealing. Then reality sets in, and that’s where the thorns make their presence known. With one comes the other.

My stories are about love, but they are also about the reality of getting to know another person–the trials, the arguments, the struggles. They are also about looking at those “thorns” through the eyes of faith. I write old-fashioned morals into contemporary settings (for the moment).
