M is for Marriage — 5 Comments

  1. Ha ha! Ditto what Diana said! My grandpa, bless his heart, leaned over and whispered that sage advice in my ear during my wedding reception. I’ve never forgotten it, and I’m still married to my high school sweetheart! We also celebrated 22 years this year, Ginger!

  2. Love is a decision–an action–not a feeling. I told my kids (who now have been married almost 9 years, and 6 years respectively) that a key to keeping a marriage (we’re on 34 years) going is simply deciding to. If you believe that the only way out is through, it changes one’s mind set completely. When you don’t have the option of playing the “I don’t like you so I’ll leave” card, you decide to make things better. Yes, there are reasons for divorce–we and our kids don’t have those reasons!
