Character Interview with Princess Roanna

Hi Princess Roanna! Thanks for stopping by. Can you tell us a little about your story, The Rejected Princess?

Thanks so much for having me! My story is a little bit romance, a little bit fantasy—a tale of strange powers, arranged marriage, and forbidden love.

Intriguing! We would like to learn a little more about you. What did you eat for breakfast?

Breakfast? While sitting in the main dining room of the palace, I had toast with butter, fruit, and orange juice. Of course, on my way out I may or may not have swiped a pastry or three…

Sounds yummy. Do you have a pet?

No pets. Mother and Father always forbade a pet. I would like a cat, though. A white one, with a shiny collar. And I would name it Jingles. And I might also like a dog. And a bird. And maybe a fish.

A cat, a dog, a bird, and a fish. An interesting collection of pets. What is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you?

I suppose that depends on if you mean before or after life was turned upside down! Beforehand, I would say the most exciting thing was the time I was helping with the Rejected children at the orphanage. We had games for the children, and one of the games we set up was a race. Two of the children had the ability to move at the speed of light, and one of them took me with them!

If you mean afterwards, I would say the most exciting thing in life has been the opportunity to fall in love.

What is your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is that others will not see me for me, but will see me for their preconceived notions of who I am simply because I have an anomaly. I don’t want to be seen as my power. I want to be seen as Roanna.

In The Rejected Princess you ask for permission to build a prayer chapel. Why is that important to you?

I pray because I believe someone hears those prayers. I enjoy life, silliness, laughter, and games. But I know I can enjoy these things fully because I am but a child under the protection of the Master—I do not have to worry or care for things, as He will do that for me. Any worry or care I do have is taken before the Master in prayer. It is very important to me to have a place set aside where I can petition for the needs and wishes of myself and others.

Thank you again for stopping by, Roanna!
