I couldn’t resist using my own name today. 🙂
But…there are a few other things that start with ginger:
- ginger ale
- ginger root
My kids think it’s amusing that I don’t like the taste of ginger. I don’t eat gingerbread or gingersnaps, nor do I drink gingerale.
I remember when I was pregnant and nauseous all day long, my sweet m-i-l (mother-in-love) suggested candied ginger. Yuuuccckkkk! That stuff was SO incredibly disgusting to me.
I know that Chinese food includes ginger root and because there are so many bold flavors, I don’t mind that hint of ginger.
What other things do you know that are laced with ginger?

Of course you had to go with your name!
Whenever I hear the name, I think of the character from the old TV show Gilligan’s Island!
I have no clue as to what else has ginger in it.
What a Great choice!! =]
I think I could live on Gingersnaps. Yumz!! =]
LOL. I always think of Ginger from Gilligan’s Island, too!
Speaking of ginger in food, I was never a big fan until I found the crystallized ginger candy. Now I have a ginger root frozen in my fridge and grate it into all sorts of things! Good for you, too!
Great idea to take the letter of your name. Will have to remember that in a few weeks. I know when we take photos of my twin grandsons, people will ask,”Is their hair ginger?” In face in person, they hare blonde hair but for some reason in photo, they take on a reddish tinge. I do like gingersnaps too… Your post warms my heart today!
Barbara and Niki…I forgot about Ginger in Gilligan’s Island. I haven’t seen that show in ages. 🙂
Patty, I know what to get you the next time I have the awesome opportunity of seeing you. LOL I make a great gingersnap (the rest of my family likes them).
Jean, twin grandsons sounds fun. 🙂 I’m glad I was able to warm your heart today.
Have a great day ya’ll and thanks for posting.
OOOH, I love Ginger Snaps and Ginger bread. Yum! I love the name Ginger too. I loved your post. Made me a little hungry.
