Let’s Eat Cake
Over the years I have been called upon by my children to make special Cakes for their birthdays.
Some were better than others. A few of the better ones I couldn’t find pictures of. How depressing. Anyway, here are a few of my creations.
BTW, the last picture is not cake. 🙂 My second son is not fond of cake, so every year he asks for Peanut Butter Pie. The recipe I use follows. I don’t know where it came from originally, but it’s good and EASY.
Peanut Butter Pie
Prepared pie crust, baked according to directions, and cooled.
¾ cup confectioners sugar
½ cup peanut butter
2 cups milk
vanilla instant pudding (large)
Mix sugar and peanut butter until lightly colored and it looks like sand and small pebbles. Sprinkle all but 2 tbsp. in the bottom of baked pie shell.
Mix pudding with milk and let begin to thicken. Pour over crumbs in shell. Top with Cool Whip, then sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
Refrigerate overnight or a couple of hours.

Love your creative cakes! They’re really cute! The pie recipe sounds good, too. 🙂 I used to make fun decorated cakes for the kids and also some pretty ones for things like Mother’s Day when Mom and MIL were around. I haven’t made any for a long time because we rarely eat that sort of thing any more. They’re fun to do, though!
Oh, this almost made me weepy! For years I’ve made cakes for my kids for their birthdays, and every year, whether THEY knew it or not, it was an expression of my love for them. My favorite was the year I attempted a Barbie cake for my daughter’s 16th, with the Barbie on top and her cake as the skirt.
Several years ago, my mom and I took a cake decorating class in a cake supply store.
No sink was available and I really made a mess with the frosting! But I learned a lot and still have the tools. Rarely use them, but they were expensive and I may need them someday!Love your cute cakes.
